How did it start?

For me, it was on 25th of May, 1965 – that day I had participated on a dogshow as a „handler” first time! That time I had been a - as a child sometimes clumsy – helping hand in the famous terrier kennel „Körösparti” owned by Kati Répássy and the main goal of my life was just „terriers” for 15 years so on. She owned and bred Skye terriers, Foxterriers, Jagds and Welshs.

To be a doggie-person  marked the direct way to the university of animal husbandry in Gödöllő.

And how did it happen to change terriers to vizslas? Of course by the way of love… My husband Tamás joined to a hunting company in1979 so we needed a gundog. We had chosen a Hungarian Vizsla of course. He was Kávai Éber Koma who turned our lives upside down. Tamás also changed soon to be real doggie- person: trainings, shows, breeding, club programmes…. and the rest is history!

The first Pitypang litter was born in 1984 after a few years of „learning the breed”. The mother was a Dunakömlődi bitch. The other female we had chosen was from the old famous Hubertus line (Juhászföldi Bütyök Marcsa) -  unfortunatelly we soon lost this bloodline because of a fatal accident. But, heartwarming to know that the remote descendant of the very first Pitypang Vizsla lives in the KALLIOALANTEEN kennel in Finland. Kallioalanteen Rosamunda’s 7th ancestor is Pitypang Puszi!

Helvécia Dóra, the real founder of the nowadays Pitypangs was born in 1986. She was my very first partner in gundog trials and tests too. Her descendants are living with me to this day!

Tamás was the president of the Hungarian Vizsla Klub of Hungary from 1989 to 2004.

Me and Tamás are FCI gundog performance judges from 1994.

Our son, Péter has trained his hunting and competing companions since ten-age. Pitypang Berta was his first ’partner’ in international field trials and hunting tests,  who took part in the Hungarian Vizsla European Cup too.

Peter has been a gundog performance judge since 2015.

Our slogan: LET THE GOOD VIZSLA BE BEAUTIFUL! We know the vizsla has been evolved into such a dog that we love nowadays during long centuries and during these centuries the only aspect of selection was the hunting ability. So we can say: the hunting have made the vizsla who they are: a ‘VIZSLA‘.

Our strong conviction is that nowadays the breeders have only one workable way in the vizsla breeding - and this way is the same one that has worked for hundreds of years: to keep up the excellent psychical, mental abilities and in the same time to make the vizsla more and more fit, healthy and beautiful.

Our aim is to breed vizslas that have excellent hunting abilities (good nose, drive, keen to retrieve, dramatic pointing ) that are nice (lean, noble, aristocratic) that are easy to train and that have good temperament and nice ‘personality‘.

We have ascertained the hunting abilities of each of our breeding stock. We are proud of those PITYPANGS‘, which have won not only on the shows but in the hunting competitions as well or which perform excellently in the hunting fields.

Picking up a dog for breeding also indispensable is that it must be well balanced, sound, fit and healthy. Even the grandparents and the great-grandparents of our vizslas that actually take part in our breeding programme had been selected for the hip status so we can assert hip displasy occures more and more rarely in the PITYPANG litters. When planning a litter we take in consideration the COI to be lower than 5 per cent (calculated for 8 generations).
